Street-Smart Kids: Parent Guide

Last updated: June 11, 2026
Privacy at a glance

The App does not require an account and the developer does not operate a server that receives your reading progress. Progress is stored in the App's local storage and may be included in Android device backup. The App uses Google AdMob for advertising and Picsum Photos to load images.

1 Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Street-Smart Kids: Parent Guide Android application (the "App"). In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to the developer of the App.

The App's Android package identifier is com.velixy.streetsmartkids.parentguideapp. The App provides educational safety scenarios, bookmarks, progress tracking, quizzes, and reading streak features for parents and caregivers.

2 Information and data

You can use the App without creating an account or directly providing your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment information to us.

Data How it is handled Purpose
Read scenario IDs and timestamps Stored in App storage Track reading progress and streaks
Bookmarks Stored in App storage Show saved scenarios
Quiz scores Stored in App storage Show stars and quiz progress
Onboarding and streak settings Stored in App preferences Remember settings and calculate streaks
Advertising and device data May be processed by Google AdMob Serve, limit, secure, and measure ads
IP address and request data May be processed by network service providers Deliver ads and remote images
No developer account database: We do not provide user accounts and do not operate an application server that receives your reading history, bookmarks, or quiz results.

3 Local storage and backup

The App uses an Android Room database and Android DataStore preferences to save progress on your device. This includes scenario identifiers, chapter identifiers, read status, bookmark status, read timestamps, quiz stars, onboarding status, current and longest streaks, and the last-open date.

Android backup is enabled for the App. Depending on your device, Android version, Google account, and backup settings, the operating system may securely back up the App's database and preferences to your Google account or transfer them to a new device. This process is controlled by Android and the user's backup settings, not by our own servers.

See Android Auto Backup for more information.

4 Google AdMob advertising

The App displays banner advertisements and may display an interstitial advertisement after a quiz. These ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC.

Google may process information such as the App name, advertising or device identifiers, IP address, general location derived from the IP address, device and operating system information, ad impressions, interactions, and diagnostic data. The exact data processed can depend on your device, region, consent choices, Google settings, and the ad served.

Google may use this information to provide and personalize advertising, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations. Google handles this data under its own terms and privacy practices.

You can manage ad personalization and related controls through your Google account, My Ad Center, and your Android device's privacy or advertising settings. Available controls vary by region and Android version.

5 Picsum Photos image service

The App loads chapter and scenario images from Picsum Photos. When an image is requested, Picsum Photos and its hosting or network providers may receive standard request information, including your IP address, request time, requested image URL, and technical browser or device request data.

Images may be cached on your device to improve performance and reduce repeated network requests. We do not send your reading progress, bookmarks, or quiz answers to Picsum Photos.

6 Children's privacy

The App is designed as a parent and caregiver guide for discussing safety topics with children. It is not intended to request personal information directly from children, and the App does not include an account registration or social posting feature.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers. However, the App uses third-party advertising and image services as described above. Parents and caregivers should supervise children's use of the App.

If you believe personal information from a child has been handled in a way that concerns you, contact us at creativecleancode@gmail.com.

7 Your choices and rights

  • Local App data: Clear the App's storage through Android Settings or uninstall the App.
  • Android backup: Manage device backup through your Android or Google account settings.
  • Advertising: Manage ad personalization in Google My Ad Center and your device's advertising settings.
  • Network access: Using the App offline can prevent new ads and uncached remote images from loading.

Depending on your location, privacy laws may provide rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts or a server database of App progress, we may not possess information that can be linked back to you. Requests about data processed independently by Google should also be directed to Google.

We do not sell personal information that we collect through our own servers. Third-party advertising practices are governed by the provider's policies and the controls available to you.

8 Retention and deletion

Local progress remains in the App's storage until you clear the App's data or uninstall it. A backup copy may remain in your Android backup according to your Google account settings and Google's retention rules. Restoring a backup may restore App progress to a device.

Google and Picsum Photos determine retention periods for information they process under their own policies and legal obligations. We do not control those retention periods.

9 Security

App progress is stored within Android's application storage. Network requests for advertisements and images use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use the platform's standard storage and network protections appropriate to the App.

10 International processing

Google, Picsum Photos, and their service providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy policies describe their processing practices and applicable safeguards.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its service providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Material updates may also be communicated through the App or its store listing where appropriate.
